When I was 4 or 5 years old, I realized that I really love drawing stuffs, though unlike any other kids, I didn't really like using crayons may it be for drawing or, obviously, coloring. As time passed by, I finally realized my potential and started drawing a lot—most of the time, women. I get praised by my classmates a lot but my satisfaction was insatiable—it was just terribly insatiable.
After that, I started watching various Japanese cartoons and sort of like, not really copy them, but more like, made the characters my personal paradigms. I drew those characters without looking at them, and then I finally came up with my own style. I never really got fond of the so called chibi types or ultra-wide-eyed characters. I prefer a style with more seriousness and a tad bit touch of chibiness, so, in the end, it's still awfully abbreviated, but not that abbreviated. How should I put it... Hmn... Whatever, lol.Anyway, when I entered college, I didn't draw as much as I did when I was in high school or elementary. I was thinking that my skill leveled down and I'm not as good anymore. I was like, "Dame ka?" ![]() This fired me up. So, weeks ago, I tried drawing something again...and it turned out fine. Not that WOW but still...kind of descent for an amateur. Then, yesterday, while I was in the mall, I went to a supply store and bought a sketch pad and a pencil, lol...and I came up with something I really like. From weeks ago: From yesterday: You guys might've not noticed but that is a mermaid...yeah, the last one, lol. |
